Contagious Things Like Laughter And Diseases

Reminder:
Division Test tomorrow

Today's General Knowledge Question:
Name two differences between a moth and a butterfly. [ Answered by Ryan with the help of Fabien: 1. A moth's wings is spread when it lands, a butterfly folds its wing when it lands. 2. A moth has hairy antennae, a butterfly has slender and smooth antennae.]

Today was a slightly difficult day because Gina was cursed again by the laughter. Being a teacher, I am already an expert at suppressing laughter but I don't why my defenses were weakened just now and I could not help but laugh! This did not help the situation at all because when I laugh, the Gs find it very funny.

The second I look at Gina, I just cannot control myself from laughing! This happened right smack in the middle of spelling and dictation too!

So while waiting for them to line up for recess, I threw up my hands in defeat and said, The whole class is crazy!

That aside, we started on the topic of Money today. Money is unbelievably easy. It's not just easy to me, it's easy to most of the Gs. It is mostly simple addition and subtraction. I think it is a good time for them to brush up on these two as they are very careless. Even my best Math students make the silliest mistakes. I think we should start on Geometry or Angles. Math is not fun when it's not challenging.

We also learned of Imperatives. Words used in instruction and suggestions. As usual, it is a breeze teaching this to the Gs as they catch up pretty quickly. Within minutes, they can compose their own sentences with imperatives. Excellent work, people.

I notice however, that their spelling has declined. The boys, particularly. The girls are far better spellers than the boys. The girls also make lesser mistakes in Math as compared to the boys. I think this is because the boys fool around more in class while the girls are the ones who usually listen.

This is not entirely true of course. Whether they are girls or boys, they are still my Geniuses, which means they are outspoken, cheeky, crazy and somewhat annoying :D I mean that as a good thing of course. But in defense of the boys, they participate more in class and have more ideas. So girls, once you participate more, the boys will definitely be outshone!

That is all for today. One other thing. As NAPHA tests are tomorrow, the timetable will be affected. So I will see you for all periods except the last three.

Please remember what I told you about Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. It is highly contagious. I will conduct checks on your hands for ten days to ensure none of us are infected. Do your part. Wash your hands. Be clean. Be safe.

And stop sitting on your things! [That means you, Buttman. You know who you are.]
